Torn apart – challenges in today’s environment

Everybody experiences conflict. Feeling torn apart. Not knowing what direction to take.

Have you ever had the feeling that on the one hand, you wanted to embark on a journey, try something new, go for something exciting, but then, something was holding you back?

May be you wanted to open a company, do something on your own, and something inside told you that it is too risky.

May be you planned to buyy a car and weren’t sure, which model to buy or if it was a good decision at all.

May be you planned to change career, and a voice in your head told you not to go for it, because change is uncertain.

May be you are in a marriage and know it doesn’t work out anymore, but then, how can you leave, when there are still children to tend to?

May be you are a ‘normal’ person from Monday to Friday but come the weekend, something takes over and you totally change your way of life – partying, going out, womanising, gambling or too many men – something you might not like?

May be you know there is more to life but you don’t know how to combine the yearning for something new with what is happening in your ‘real’ life?

In NLP, we call these parts and they are in conflict with each other. It is actually possible to see how people talk about parts. Frequently, they use their different hands and say something like “on the one hand I would like to _____, but on the other hand, something holds me back and I cannot do it” Have you ever heard someone speak like that? I am sure you have.

These are internal conflicts, and the “unwanted part” causes a person to act in a way that is not wanted, or contradicts the person’s goals, aspirations or purpose. There is nothing really wrong or right with parts, but it costs a lot of energy to keep those parts inside of us and hold them in place. It is tiring, and we are flip-flopping from one side of the coin to the other. Some of us never come about to making decision because these parts and the endless discussion hold us back!

A personal example is that before I opened Asia Mind Dynamics, I had the fear of failure. Who was I to actually run my own business? I managed it, of course, and had a great help through exactly this process called Parts Integration.

It is not, of course, that there are actual parts inside of us, but accept it as a metaphor for conflicts at the unconscious level. It is not that one part is bad and the other is good.

Through NLP, it is possible to resolve this conflict – the process is called Parts Integration. The impact is dramatic. The energy starts to flow freely. It is wonderful to see, how suddenly, the ‘client’ becomes relaxed. How they start to “shine” from the inside to the outside. How stress suddenly disappears as energy starts to flow freely at the unconscious level.

Parts Integration is one of the most powerful and beautiful processes that someone can learn or experience. It is being taught in the NLP Practitioner Class, and reenforced in the Master Practitioner Class.
